As is no doubt obvious, I’ve fallen off the wagon so far as writing goes. I have a habit of setting high goals for myself, not being able to meet them due to work & RL, stressing and getting overwhelmed by it, and subsequently quitting. But I’ve taken a breather, and I’ve sorted… some of my issues out.
Work is what it is and will always be in the way and impede upon my time, but I think I’ve finally got the life outside of work sorted out and adjusted enough I can at least manage about 500 words a day without having to struggle or stress. That is not to say that I’ll make 500 words every day, but it’s a modest goal and one that I know I can manage (and not stress about if I don’t meet it).
Continuing in the vein of not stressing and getting stuff done, my longer works–such as those excerpted on my coming soon page–will not be my immediate goals. Give my rate of productivity, they’re a bit… ambitious.
Don’t get me wrong, I fully intend to work on them–Dragon Oath especially I’d love to finish and unleash upon the world–but I need to start off with shorter fic and work my way up from there.
Keep an eye out. I can’t promise anything in the very near future, but I am hoping to have something to publish going into the new year.
